Evidence of psychosocial disability

A specific mental health diagnosis is preferred but not essential. You must provide evidence of a mental health condition to access the NDIS, but the mental health condition does not need to be named. NDIS support is based on the impairment, or the impact of mental health condition, rather than the diagnosis itself.

The National Disability Insurance Agency requires evidence of permanent psychosocial disability to be documented by a health professional (usually your GP or treating psychiatrist).
